iPhone recording silent after a pause in recording

I have been using voice memo to record my classes. During a break in the class I paused the recording. When I went back today to review information that would be on the test, the recording wouldn't allow me to progress after a certain point (about 52 minutes) even though the whole recording is 1hr 32m. This is incredibly frustrating, because it doesn't appear that I have a way to recover this information even though it appears that it was recording the entire time. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you're unable to play a specific part of a Voice Memo. We'd like to help.

Try quitting out of the Voice Memo app, then reopen it and test to see if the audio plays. Depending on that result, restart your device and then test again. If you're able to, share the Voice Memo with another device or someone to see if it plays on another device.
