iPhone 12 Pro and UConnect 8.4

Hello,

I will preface this by stating that I am not sure if this is an iphone issue or a radio issue. I am trying to figure it out. I really think it is a radio issue, but just want to see if other users have this issue also.

I have a Dodge Durango R/T which has the UConnect 8.4 in it. I usually have my phone plugged in to charge on of the USB ports. My Apple CarPlay works fine. My issue is that if I have the phone plugged in and am simply listening to the radio, I cannot do anything really on my phone without the radio switching to "Media" mode. If I open a web broswer, facebook, snapchat.....this morning it did it when I opened my email. If I switch back to "radio" on my UConnect, there is a good chance that it wont play any music and if I try to adjust the volume, its like it is locked up. I have to go back into "media" and hit pause on the screen a few times before it will allow it to change. Even if I unplug the phone, it will stay locked up. This morning, I couldn't get anything to work and had to drive to work with no radio at all.

Is there some sort of setting that I can change on my phone to keep it from automatically trying to connect to the radio?
