Seems like find my for the new MagSafe wallet is a software update and not a hardware update. But maybe I’m wrong. So I was wondering if this will work with the old MagSafe wallets?

No it seems to be a hardware update. I got myself the old California poppy wallet and new golden brown wallet. The find me app only supported the latter.
