SBCGLOBAL mail settings for IPAD.

Having a problems with re-adding my sbcglobal email to my IPAD.

I have gone into SETTINGS. NEW MAIL using OTHER mail.

Entered my name and email address.

Changed the inbound mail server HOST NAME to "inbound.att.net" as recommended here.

Outgoing Mail Server setting is

HOST NAME: smtp.mail.att.net

It says it is verifying then SSL error message.

Do you want to continue without SSL Y or N.

Tried Y and now it says "This account may not be able to send or receive emails. are you sure you want to save." Edit or Save.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

It is my understanding that AT&T use Yahoo for email services. In common with many other Mail providers, Yahoo now use App Passwords to secure access IMAP or POP3 mailboxes.

The Mail App on each of your devices, such as your iPad, requires a unique password to be generated from within the Yahoo account. This App password intentionally differs from your Yahoo account password - and can only be used to access your Yahoo mail.
