iPhone 12 mini flickering in dark mode

Hi everyone!

I have noticed a very weird bug, only when my phone is on “dark mode” and I have installed a light color wallpaper.

When I open app such as clock, calendar, health which all have a dark background during the “dark mode”, I get a white line of flickering lasting just 0,2/0,3 seconds on the left side of the screen.

This doesn’t happen in case I have a dark wallpaper or “light mode” on with any kind of wallpaper.

Do you have the same problem? If yes, when will they fix this bug?

Dear Sharon,

Thank you for your answer, but I have already done it and and after the troubleshooting they have simply suggested me to bring to the closer Apple center.

However I’m sure that all the other iPhone 12 mini have the same problem, so this is a bug that should be solved from the headquarter of Apple for all these models with the same problem, which seems not going to happen….

It sounds like when using Dark Mode on your device and opening specific apps, there is an unexpected flicker you're noticing on the screen. We'd like to help.

Is your device updated to the latest version of iOS? If not, back up and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

It may also be helpful to Restart your iPhone and then test to see if the issue continues.

Hi Kareng12,

Thank you for your answer, however I have already tried all the potential solutions:

-Hard restart

-Updated to the most recent firmware

-Deleted all content and settings

-Diagnostic from the phone (Apple team found everything ok on my phone status).

This is simply a bug unresolved from Apple team, because I have tested the same on 2 other Apple 12 Mini and they have the same problem when they are in dark mode while having a white photo of background, probably due to the fact that the screen doesn’t react properly from the fast change of contrast.
