books not opening pdf

Since updating to latest OS, when I try to open a pdf in Books it opens the file in an external reader. Any fixes?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.14

Change your default app for reading PDF files.

Thanks. I don't want Books as default pdf reader but I now know the issue.
