Hardshell case for macbook air 2020

There are pros and cons -- your decision.

Pros - protecting from accidental bumps or greasy hand-marks. Some hard shell material can provide better grip as I have sweaty hands and my 2009 MBA got slipped out of my hands few times.

Cons - I can not use some specific docking station because of the hard shell case. extra weight, especially on the scree portion - that might put the hinge in test, when I picked up my MBA while the lid was open. Cooling issue - I found Intel models would suffer from thermal issues. Moreover, M1 MBA has no fan -- the case is the cooling pas that hard case would interfere the cooling process.

For me, the silver lining is -- M1 MBA is so efficient and I use the MBA mainly for documentation, web conference (when I am on the road) and web browsing -- all these tasks, I did not see any problem with hard shell case.

FWIW, I don't see any need for a "hard case". Mac notebooks alread have a "hard case". So what purpose is a redundant "hard case"?
