Bluetooth range is poor

I have an iphone X. Just before I updated to ios 14.7.1 the Bluetooth started acting up. When I’m listening to music with headphones or speakers, I have to be really close to the Bluetooth device for the music to play. Sometimes I have to hold my phone about 6 inches close to the Bluetooth device before I can hear the music again.

Other times, connecting to an already paired device takes ages. I get an error message saying the Bluetooth device is out of range.

I reset the phone last week and the problem still persists.

I updated to ios 14.8 yesterday and it’s still the same thing.

Please how do I solve this issue.

Hello Dozziiee,

Bluetooth is a great function and feature of your iPhone X, and ensuring it’s working properly is important.

Apple does have a great article that can help with reaching a resolution, which is linked below. While the title of the article references a different issue associated to Bluetooth, the steps are still very helpful with the issue you’re facing.

If you can’t connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you continue to have issues after those steps please let us know. We look forward to the results!
