Third party password generation not working for me.

When I try to generate an app-specific password it asks to "Confirm Your Password For your security, enter the password for Apple ID" I enter my password and it states that it's incorrect. It's the same when I try to view the history and I do have TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION on. Any help to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.
