Apple TV siri remote lost connection

I just bought a refurb Apple TV 4K. During the setup, I started experiencing the remote lost connection issue right away. I've re-paired the remote and I'm currently following the instructions to charge the remote for 30 min using proper Apple charging cube and lightning cable. Don't expect that to help since the remote was supposedly already 81% charged. Very annoying. Didn't have this issue with the last gen AppleTV and remote.

Then the issue is not related to the battery. 81% is plenty enough.

The issue might be caused by interference in the bluetooth radio band. See if there are nearby other devices that send in overlapping frequencies; bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or other wireless. Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

Was that also a Siri Remote? The old style Apple Remote (non-Siri) wouldn’t use bluetooth, but IR instead, and wouldn’t suffer from such interference.
