store specific folders in Time Machine to a new MacBook

Hi ,

Can you someone guide me how to restore specific folders in my time machine back to another new MacBook .

Knowing that I tried to open the "sparsebundle" file located , where I'm getting error "the following disk images couldn't be opened " with reason resource temporary unavailable .

Move back up files from external hard drive without time machine I had to carry out a full erasure of my macbook pro today as it was not booting. I copied the files via target disk mode using a working laptop and stored them onto an external hard drive. The problem is that since the files were not saved via time machine, time machine does not recognise them as a back up to restore from. I'd particularly like to copy the apps and settings to my now working laptop (the general files, I understand, I can just transfer directly in Finder) to avoid having to install everything individually so I am wondering if there is a way to do this? Thanks!

Restore some files to new Mac using Time Machine I had to reinstall the OS on my iMac, a process which took a day longer than it should. I now have Catalina installed and I want to restore my backed up files on an external drive. The backup was created with Time Machine. I don’t want to restore everything; I’d rather keep the OS as clean as possible. This computer had a lot of idiosyncrasies. But I do want to restore documents and libraries (Books, Music, Movies, Photos, Fonts) and the settings and preferences for some applications. Can I do that? If so, how? When I enter Time Machine there is no option to restore files, which I assume is because I have not backed up this iteration of this iMac, so it has no backup to restore from.

extra usb hard drive time machine back up recover I backed up my MacBook to a USB external hard drive so as to update my OS from El Capitan to Big Sur using the time machine. I followed the process in where it asked me to erase all files, as I had already backed them up. Now that I am done and have Big Sur up and running, I reconnect the USB external hard drive but can't find where my backed-up files are so as to reinstall them in my Mac Book. Can any body help me ? Thank you
