iPhone 8 Other takes up 50+GB

Hi, I have an iPhone 8 64GB that is running on ios 14.4.2. I factory reset it and the Other is still over 50gb which means that i have less than 300MB of usable storage. When I connect it to iTunes on PC it says that it has 52GB Free but if I try to restore it (it wants to update the phone) it needs 4gb storage free for update which it does not. I did reset the phone so no apps or photos etc. are on it. What can I do?? I’ve been trying to find a solutipn for hours. Please help!

OK.....when you say you wiped the phone clean, did you do what is detailed in this link (make sure your data backed up) --> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If this is what you did, there really is no way there could be 50GB of other remaining on the phone. It would be in the condition of a new phone, which opens to the Hello Page and would be ready to be set up.

Then set up the phone from the backup you have.

Try restoring the phone and do NOT restore from backup. It appears there is something in your backup which is corrupt. In a case like this, you would need to set the phone up manually and NOT from backup IF the restore gave you your memory back.

Hi, I’ve tried multiple backups and also setting it up from new (without backup) and stiĺ didn’t work. I’m now trying to restore the phone through iTunes and DFU mode. If it works I’ll make another comment

Well, I followed the guide step by step and it didn’t work. Do you think it could be the memory chip itself? In the computer it says that it has like normal storage usage (52GB Free) but if i try to put something on the phone it says storage full

You are saying you factory reset your phone, meaning you wiped all data off the phone and yet "other" remained unchanged? Or did you mean you Force Restarted your phone?
