how can I share a locked note securely?

How can I share a locked note securely? (iPhone 11 os14.8). I have a locked note that my family refers to. The file includes private information that I don’t want exposed in the process of sharing the file. In the past I was able to share a password protected note with my wife but that no longer appears to be an option. Has this feature been discontinued or just changed?
