sharing locked note

If I lock a note, I have to unlock it to email to someone. But once I email it will it be locked and will they need a password to open it? I'm trying to email a private document this way.

Why not remove the lock before sending the note as described here.

I want to be able to lock it so only someone w password can view- unfortunately only lets me send unlocked.

I believe Apple’s Pages app provides support for this scenario. Of course, the recipient as well as sender must use Pages. (The same is true for Numbers and Keynote.)
