bottom of MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, bowing out in center

Just recently, the bottom of my MacBook Pro has begun to bulge out in the middle so that it doesn't lie flat. This makes it hard to type and use the mouse pad while the laptop is bouncing around. I've had to put a mouse pad on one side to stabilize it. What gives?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.14

The battery has failed and is swelling. Get it to Apple for service as soon as possible. Ignored, the swelling will continue and do damage to other parts and the computer may not be recoverable.
