IOS 14.8 wi-fi security setting about encrypted DNS

2 of us use the same wifi at home through an apple router.

One iPhone8 has a statement in its wifi setting that it is blocking encrypted DNS;

the other iphone8's identical setting does not contain this statement. All other wi-fi settings for the 2 iPhones appear are identical.

****What's the purpose and impact of the DNS statement?
