Then turn off the Repeat 1 function.

Different generations of iPod Touch have slightly different places for the repeat function, but the principal is the same: each time you tap the Repeat button, the repeat function cycles through:

    • Off - each song on the list is played and once the list of songs finishes playing, the player will stop
    • Repeat - when the current list finishes, the list will play again
    • Repeat 1 - when the current song finishes, it will play again. There will be a small 1 in the repeat button, to indicate that it is in Repeat 1 mode rather than Repeat mode
    • Off - the repeat function is off

On the 6th generation iPod Touch, if you drag the Now Playing screen up to full size and then pull it up further, you will see the additional controls, such as the Shuffle and Repeat buttons. On this generation of iPod, when the button is grey, with red text, the function is off. When the button is red, with white text, the function is on. When repeat is on, look for the small 1 in the arrows, which indicates that the player is in Repeat 1 mode.

As stated, different generations are slightly different, but look for that small 1 in the button.
