I've never had an issue with Google Maps or Apple Maps on my Iphone 6. Now, neither are working properly. I googled to research and tried to fix, but with no luck.
The audio no longer consistently announces a turn beforehand , and the arrow (representing my phone) doesn't move any longer along the route. Which makes both Maps ineffectual.
I'd love some advice on how to fix - if at all possible. Thanks for your time.

I'm sorry for the delay in writing back - but I'm afraid the steps provided didn't work. Google Maps and Apple Maps are still not working properly. Neither consistently give turns in advance (audio navigation), and navigation is way off. Apple Maps works a bit better than Google, but I can make a turn - and nothing happens - it'll show my car back on the street I just turned off of.
Is this because I have an Iphone 6 and my software is iOS.12.5.5? Is there anything else that can be done to fix? Anyway for me to do the equivalent of a "system restore" on my phone back to a time when it would work? I never had these problems before - it cropped up the last three-six months. I realize I need to buy a new phone, but still. Any input here would really be appreciated. I might try the Map Quest and Waze apps to see if same happens with them.
