Mac Mail (Big Sur) - How to 'Remove Style' From Only Highlighted Text

Before I upgraded my Mac from a 2009 machine running El Cap. I could select a portion of text in an email I was composing and apply the 'Remove Style' facility to it to remove any colour or other annoying text effects.

When I do that in Big Sur it removes the style from the whole email (including removing links, etc).

Is there a way around this?

Martin.

You could try copy then cmd-opt-v to paste style. Assuming you haven't copied a style, it will paste plain style.
