The Apple TV+ offer is not automatically applied. Users have to redeem the offer.
Just signing up for Apple TV+ without redeeming won’t give the free extended trial.
The Apple TV app has more content than just Apple TV+. That other content is not part of the subscription, and will have to be paid for separately.
Redeem the offer within the first three months, on your new Apple device, in the TV app, where you will find the redeem button.
Devices activated on or after July 1st 2021 are eligible for a offer with a duration of 3 months. Only devices activated before that, but no longer than 3 months ago, can redeem a free year.
