Support: iPhone after market microphone incompatibility

Hello

I am using the iPhone 11 as a remote camera platform for filming. We include the Rode Wireless Go microphone system which attaches via a 3.5mm to Lightning adapter. During a set up test session we encountered a message to the effect of "device not supported". The recording app is Filmic Pro which is sold on the App Store.

Is there a work around for the incompatibility issue? Can I return the phone to an earlier operating system as it is not cell connected? Please assist.
