webcam recommendations for Mac mini 2018 running Mojave 10.14.6

I need a webcam to be able to login to one of my accounts. Login criteria was changed this month and my 2009 MacBook Pro will not take an acceptable picture for the site to let me login. I get error messages that say either the browser or OS is not compatible so I tried anyway using Firefox and Chrome several times on both browsers. Failed.

So now I'm reluctantly having to consider buying a webcam for my Mac Mini, knowing many people are having problems logging into the same site. And there is no tech support whatsoever from the site. The site is ID.me

No guesses please, only experiences that work.

Does it need Sound also, or is the internal Mic OK?

Mac Mini has no internal mic, so yes it would need one. Thank you for thinking of that, I thought the webcam would automatically have one.
