Cursor freezes (external Bluetooth apple magic mouse), lags after MacBook (2019) + HDMI external monitor wakes from sleep

Cursor freezes (external Bluetooth apple magic mouse), lags after MacBook (2019) + HDMI external monitor wakes from sleep. After waking my MacBook Pro the cursor works but every 5 seconds or so it lags or glitches. If I disconnect the external HDMI monitor and plug back in the cursor works fine and no glitches until I put the Mac back to sleep and upon wakening same issue reoccurs.

Please any way of fixing this so I don't have to disconnect and reconnect the external monitor every time my Mac wakes. Thanks Ig
