iTunes backup folder is empty

Hi,

I backed up my old, now broken, iPhone SE (1st generation) using iTunes on my PC windows 10, and now I went to see what's in the backup folder that was created last time I backed up, but the folder is empty. I've looked at C:\Users\<User>\Apple\MobileSync\Backup and there I get to the folder backup, and it says it's empty, I even have so I can see all hidden files but with no success. I also tried to search for it in C:\Users\<User>\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup but there nothing was found.

I just want to find out what the size of my old backup is so I know if it will fit into my new Iphone SE (2nd generation), since on iTunes it just specifices the date and time when the backup was made.

Has anyone else had this problem or knows what to do?

Hello Jasmine,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about determining the size of that iTunes backup.

To verify, does that persist if you use the steps from this article to also check the AppData folder? Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Also, does your new iPhone SE have the same amount or larger storage than your prior iPhone SE? If so, then your new iPhone should have enough space available to be restored from that prior backup.

Hopefully that puts you on the path to resolving your situation.

Take care.
