Want to ensure my MacBook Pro Retina-- by its serial # -- can do the upgrade from Catalina to big Sur

How can I verify that my MacBook Pro Retina 13"-- by its serial # -- can be updated to Big Sur? Apple says only "Late 2013" models will update.... mine is "Early 2013" I'm hoping the specific serial # is a better check. I have plenty of storage

The only check you need

If it says early—you do not qualify, this is not a "plenty of storage" issue— it is due to hardware limitations.

You can go no further than macOS Catalalina

verify you are using the Safari browser to download/initiate the macOS links.
