iOS 15 Driving Focus - Allow Apps

Hi,

I upgraded to iOS 15 last night and really like the new focus feature except for one thing, I want to allow certain apps to send notifications when driving.

Is there any way to create a custom focus that starts automatically on BT connection but allows app notifications?

I can understand why Apple may not have allowed this, but if they added this feature, with a disclaimer, I'm sure lots of people would welcome it.

Where can I request this feature?

Thanks.

Hello Pandybelly,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand that you'd like to customize Driving Focus to automatically start when connected to Bluetooth and allow some notifications. We're happy to help.

With Driving Focus you can set this feature to start when connected to your car Bluetooth and allow notifications from specific contacts or apps. Take a look a the following resource for steps to turn on Driving Focus automatically and customize your notifications:

Use the Driving Focus on your iPhone to concentrate on the road

We encourage you to leave feedback for any features you'd like to see in the future.

The Apple help page really doesn't answer the question. Take this as an example. I have an intruder alarm app that uses geo-fencing. There is no way to tell the Driving Focus that I want that app to send me notifications. Other Focus's allow the user to define which apps can bypass DND, but the Driving Focus only allows you to identify allowed callers. There are a host of security apps I use that are geo-fenced that are silenced when I'm using the Driving Focus.
