iOS 15 Messages Notifications Not Working

You're VERY VERY lucky if this is the first time this happened to you. I think I have ACTUAL PTSD about this issue which has LITERALLY occurred EVERY SINGLE TIME I do an update on my IMAC to a new OS and updates on the same day to my IPHONE and IPAD...TODAY I updated IPADS and IPHONE to 15.5 and IOS to Monterey 12.4 I get zero imessage notifications. I have all set to PERMANENT and BANNER AND FOCUS is LITERALLY OFF on all devices. I do it manually when I need to not be disturbed. AND THUS far nobody at Apple has figured out how to fix it. OFTEN I STUMBLE upon a fix but I never know what I did...and suddenly notifications are once again working. It's gotten me to a point where i almost feel ill when I see updates now. I put them off for days sometimes because I have to wait until I have HOURS of free time to futz with it..OR hours of time to call APPLE and spend a long time with a first line technical support person until I am connected with a SENIOR tech who sometimes helps and sometimes doesn't. It's a terrible thing for one of the largest companies in the WORLD to be leaving as a legacy IMO.

My issue appears to related to Mail as I am not receiving any vibration notifications on incoming mail.

I’m noticing this as well an a new iPhone 13 with iOS 15.

I am having the same problem. No audible notification and messages aren’t showing in my notification page. My wife thinks I’m ignoring her.

I am having the same problems and have tried all the suggested solutions without any change. No sound when receive a new message.

Addition - this seems to only be a problem when the phone is locked. When unlocked, audible notifications work normally.

Same issue have tried everything, spent 2 hours with Apple support and issue not resolved. Frustrating because family thinks I’m ignoring them

Agreed, email notification not working. "Simple Do Not Disturb" now a complicated mess in "Focus", iPad icons don't line up the way they used to ): Sometimes less is more, eh?

I can’t find “Customize notifications” under Settings, where did you find this?

Settings/Notifications/Mail then scroll to the bottom and u should see Customize Notifications…..make sure “Alerts” are turned on😃

non-responsive to original issue which was alerts on TEXT messages.

Coincidence that I was searching for the reason that some incoming text messages were not giving notifications intermittently. Thanks for the info. Hopefully the issue will be resolved shortly.
