Unable to receive mail to my custom domain email

I set up my custom domain email with iCloud+ and everything appears to be fine. I've added my iCloud account to Mail on my desktop as well as my iPhone, and I am able to select and send emails from my custom domain email. However, upon testing, I'm not receiving emails to my @icloud.com OR my @domain.com emails (but I can send them). To clarify, I'm checking my inbox on the icloud.com/mail and the Mail app, and I've received nothing in mailbox or junk. I also do not have mailbox "rules" or "forwarding" set up. Is there something blocking receiving emails to @icloud.com and @domain.com?
