Safari & Big Sur

I have just received an update for Safari now 15.0 am using Big Sur 11.6

After the update when I opened Safari my Bookmarks did not display as normal, I had to click on a "Collected Links" link? Then my Bookmarks displayed as usual, however when Safari is closed down I have to go through the same procedure click on "Collected Links". Prior to this Safari update my Bookmarks would always open up in the left panel on Safari. I cannot see an obvious way to make this happen when I now open Safari?

Apple has made some drastic changes to the Sidebar making it significantly less user friendly. I've reported this bug dozens of times during the developer betas and now it's made it's way to Safari 15 for older OSes. I'm glad to see some people posting about it on the forums. It still boggles my mind that they've allowed this to pass through the beta builds.

Thanks for your reply, I see others are reporting the same issue described possibly in a better way. You say Safari 15 for older OS's, not sure what you mean (typo?), I am using 15 with Big Sur 11.6.

I'll leave feedback and await the inevitable update at some stage over the next few weeks, fingers crossed.

Safari 15 is now available for Big Sur and Catalina. It's been the version that's included in the Monterey betas and now they've released it for other versions of MacOS.

Well said. The software field has a definite quality problem and Apple has it too. If show bookmarks is selected they should not go away unless they are hidden.
