Phone broke: using new phone with watch

iPhone 6s that was paired with watch broke. Bought new iphone 12. All backups are old. Must I erase watch to pair w new phone? I assume I will loose all workout data, right?

iphone was reset; watch backup not available i had not actively backed up my phone last night and one of the usual software update runs caused a system failure. my automatic cloud backup settings are all green. today morning since the iphone is not responding to anything, the store asked me to reset iphone to factory settings. Now the Watch is not coupled with the re-setted iphone. How do I back up the watch data? I was told that there is no way you can recover data from the apple watch if it is not paired with a phone. In this case, since the iphone is factory re-set, it is not coupled with my watch. Thanks for helping me in rescuing the apple watch data somehow

If I erase everything from my Apple Watch in order to pair it with my new phone will everything come back on it after it is paired? My old phone is broken so I can’t unpair my Apple Watch from it, so when O erase my watch an then put it with my iPhone 12 Pro Max will I lose all badges and history from my watch?

And start at the section "If you don't have your old iPhone or you erased it"

And you won't lose any data.
