Issues with Zoom audio on MacBook Air

When I’m in the middle of a zoom meeting I get many pop ups saying zoom has failed to detect my microphone/speaker. I am using my computer speaker/microphone and it only happens in the middle of a meeting when it was previously working. I have tried deleting and redownloading the app on my computer to no avail.

Hello Brietta33,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, the microphone/speaker cuts out in the middle of your Zoom meetings on your MacBook Air. We'll do our best to assist.

Nice thinking with reinstalling the app, that would be a great step to take.

If that hasn't solved it, then we'd want to test it further in other apps to see if it's specific to Zoom or not. Isolate this by using another app (such as, FaceTime). Any issues using audio in the FaceTime app or others?

If so, then run a diagnostic: Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac

In case this isn't hardware related, then we'd check the settings: Control access to your microphone on Mac

Make sure it's not being blocked: Change Privacy preferences on Mac

Also, if you're using a VPN or security software, we'd recommend to disable them and restart the device. As these may be blocking the connection.

Hoping this helps out. Let us know how it goes!

Cheers!
