Custom Email Domain

Will I need to still pay for the existing domain hosting company (e.g. Network Solutions) after I set up the custom domain with Apple?

Yes, you will still need a domain hosting company. Apple is allowing you to map a custom domain to your iCloud mail account. They are not providing domain hosting or DNS services.

icloud plus Apple allows purchase of a domain name through a third party company. Does this include registration and hosting? My current provider registers and hosts my domain name and then charges extra for a email service. I am attempting to figure out if iCloud plus will replace the current email service and the $150 a year fee. The domain name hosting company would have to allow modification of its servers for this to happen. Just curious, has anyone tried this?

iCloud custom domain email I own a custom domain, but GoDaddy.com wants monthly fees to set up professional email on this domain. Is there a way to use the domain via iCloud instead of paying GoDaddy for it also?

Who registers the new email domain? Will Apple register the email domain or must we do it privately? Who pays for the registration?
