There we go again! In a world where I use to live, if I purchased something and it stopped performing something that it use to do it was called : broken. In this Apple world, Apple breaks my phone on purpose and I just have to accept it. Wow. What a frustratingly broken new world!

Has anyone seen an apology or an explanation for this loss of function?

Oh! I should have known; it probably is virus related...

Please M.Apple, fix our phones!

Tried to set up Google Maps. That did not work. Shows no history of places on the Timeline. I would pay for a third party app that did this Signification Locations history thing. All the apps i have looked at have way too many whistles and bells.

I have an iPhone 13 and a MacBook running BigSur. I can go on the Mac and see the Significant Locations (although a week old) and will not upgrade to Monterey yet because I do not want to lose this access at least.

I apologize for the tone of my comment.

I don't expect Apple to make my wishes come true.

Significant Locations worked fine in IOS14. I used it for tracking time spent on different job sites for invoicing projects. It was simple and worked fine.

I now use my MAC to log my phone significant locations. It sort of works but is a day or two behind.

as some here have suggested but it would not work for me.

Its my information, its in the Cloud, its encrypted end to end, i should be allowed to access it.

I absolutely get that the significant locations no longer works for you in the way that you were using it. That's the unfortunate part of using a feature in a different way that Apple meant for it to be used. It may work for a while and then, Apple goes and changes things and it doesn't work anymore. And that's frustrating. I really do understand.

Dear Mr Apple. Please do not keep breaking the toys that I buy from you. I realize that sometimes you make it better and sometimes you screw it up. Please fix the significant location feature that you broke. I do hate that you can tell where I am even more than I do, but my consolation is that you use to share the info with me; now who knows who gets this info! But not me anymore. This really really really stinks. Really. Boy; I am so good: no really big vulgar language... thank you in case you ever come to your senses and remember that we exist, we have needs and feelings and when you make our lives just a little worse with your decision to stop sharing MY INFORMATION with me but keep providing it to whomever... Anyway.... fix the thing!

This response is not intended to be rude in any way. (Not to NachiPanda anyway-the person {?} at Apple that RECOMMENDED the post is out of their EVER-LOVING MIND!). The poster of the question wrote: “I can see a summary of 125 places, but am unable to access.” Clearly those of us having the issue have to know where to find, if we are aware that it has changed, and there is NO way I would purchase a Mac when I agave spent PLENTY on iPhones for myself and my family over the years, and there’s nothing to stop Apple from removing this information from the Mac??! Duh!

Apple have no interest in listening to us and will not reinstate this function, we however will continue to be loyal and allow Apple to empty our wallets of cash.

Yes, they do listen but that doesn't mean they are always going to change things. A recent example where they did change things was the date/time picker in the calendar. It had been changed to a number pad (which I loved) but lots of people didn't like. Apple changed it back. Speculating on whether they will make a change in this case would be outside the T&Cs of this forum.
