Spotty wifi

My wifi connection is terrible, I sit right above my router on the first floor and every now and then the connection just drops, checked with my fibre provider, there's nothing wrong with my connection, as it drops I have a perfect connection on all. my devices and a windows laptop, yet THIS THING refuses to work, is this a mac issue? Would also not reconnect once I disconnect my wifi.

You need to do some testing to better determine whether the problem is in your Mac or is external to is. First thing I would do is connect directly with an Ethernet cable. Then see if the problem is still there. If not, it may be associated with the Wi-Fi. I would also restart the router to reset it. That often helps. You can also restart the computer in the Safe Mode. Hold down the Shift key on restart. This takes up to 10 minutes while the operating system fixes itself and clears caches. If these things don't work, please let us know.
