Find My Widget isn’t working in 15.0 on iPad or IPhone

The Find My widget, which worked in the last iOS15 beta isn’t working for people or items on iPad or iPhone in the release version. It’s showing me a gray screen. The configuration menu seems to work but it seems like it never updates with location information.


I’d love any help getting it working.

Find my works just fine. The widgets appear as empty gray boxes both in the widget selector and when placed. They never update with content.


both are using the same Apple ID

Thanks for the screenshot. We're glad you were able to return to the Apple Support Communities with these details. The next step we’d like to try is to Return iPhone settings to their defaults. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.


Resetting won't delete any data, but it will reset your Wi-Fi password, passcode, and Touch ID settings, sound settings, wallpaper, etc., so be sure to have those passwords handy.

From your post, it sounds like you are having issues with the Find My widget on your iPhone and iPad. We’re glad that you reached out to the Apple Support Communities. We want to try and help you find the answers you need.


If you have not tried already, please restart the iPhone and iPad. Does this help correct the issue? Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.


If you open the App Store, do you see any available app updates? If so, please complete the updates. We hope these steps help you out!

Thanks for returning to the Apple Support Communities with this information. To clarify, what exactly happens when you attempt to open the Find My app on your iPhone 12 Pro Max? Do you see an error message? If so, what does the error message say?


Are both the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 7 Plus using the same Apple ID? If not, this may be part of the problem. Once more information is posted, others in the Apple Support Communities may be able to assist.
