iPadOS 15 Quick Notes
I have an iPad mini 4. I just updated to iPadOS 15.
Quick Notes does not work. I have tried the corner slide up and the launch icon in Control Center. Neither one opens a small Quick Note window.

It doesn’t look like the Quick Notes feature is going to work or br made available to the older 2014 iPad Air 2 OR the 2015 iPad Mini 4 per this found on the Apple Website under iPadOS 15 features
The 2014 iPad Air 2 uses an Apple A8X CPU.
The 2015 iPad Mini 4 uses the Apple A8 CPU.
Sorry.

For older iPad models with a Home button, do a simple hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake/power button simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.
Best of Luck to You!
Apparently the Quicknotes feature is not available on iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4, at least according to a commenter here:

There is nothing on Apple's Website to indicate this anywhere.
According to iPadOS developer and public beta testers, using these features on an IPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4, these features were working in the beta versions.
I am going to reserve judgement on this until more iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4 users report on this issue and until Apple “officialy” post that info somewhere on their Website in the area of iPadOS features and compatibility.
I know the Photos Live text feature DOES NOT work with any iOS/iPadOS devices that do not have an A12 CPU or greater, but the Quick Note has NOT ever been publicised as NOT being an included feature on the iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 4.
I am going to wait to see if any “official” reports or confirmation of this actually is reported by the Apple or the usual tech media sites.
Thanks for that I agree, the fact that you are able to add quick notes to the control centre in a mini 4 leads me to assume it was intended to work. Now they may subsequently decide its all to difficult, but for now I assume its a bug and have reported it as such
See my previous reply right above yours.
The Quick Notes feature requires an Apple A9 CPU and greater.

The 2015 iPad Mini 4 uses the Apple A8 CPU.
So, NO Quick Notes feature for these two iPad models.
@iPad3gen: Try deleting the Notes app and reinstalling it from the App Store. This worked for one of my clients.
If you have actual notes stored locally on your iPad, use the Offload App option in -- Settings > General > iPad Storage > Notes > Offload App (this will keep your notes on your iPad after the Notes app is removed.)
If you sync the Notes app with iCloud, make sure you set sync back up upon reinstalling Notes. You can do that in --
Settings app > Your Name > iCloud > turn on the switch next to Notes app.
Good luck!
Thank you. I wish the “Tips” app, which surely can detect that it’s running on my iPad mini 4 hasn’t presented this feature. I wasted 20 minutes trying to figure out the gesture and where to enable! They really should suppress the tip on the models that don’t support it.
I have a 7th Gen iPad with an A10 chip, and the Quick Notes is available but still doesn't work. I swipe and it brings up a small gray window but its blank and as soon as I lift my finger or pen the small window disappears. Even under the apple pencil settings is a Bottom Right Swipe - Quick Note setting. And its checked but doesn't work.
Thank you for the fix, it worked for me too. I have the iPad Air 3 (2019) and Quick Notes wasn’t working by swiping nor from Control Centre, a black box just appeared and disappeared so I uninstalled Notes app, downloaded it again from App Store then created a new folder called Quick Note and it now works perfectly! Thank you again
The gesture to trigger QuickNote is not an upward swipe from bottom-right of the screen - but instead requires a diagonal swipe from the bottom-right corner of the screen towards the centre.
Tried that repeatedly, quick notes still not working. With swipe or directly from control centre
I also have this problem and have found that the notes app does not have a quick notes folder and if I try to create one it responds with name taken?
to help build up the anecdotal evidence of an issue, I’m having the same problem. Diagonal gesture from bottom right doesn’t work. I can quick note to control centre but still doesn’t activate.
Still not working on IPAD mini 4 the most recent update 15.0.2 didn't do much for this issue.
