I recently bought a movie from iTunes that included the theatrical and extended version. When I try to watch the movie the extended version plays fine but the theatrical version only plays sound. I tried it on my 2021 iPad Pro as well as my iPhone 12 Pro both running iOS 15. The only way I can watch that version is through airplay. Any suggestions?

Deleting the dowloaded movies and re-downloading them did the job for me. It seems there was a bug or something with the new iOS 15 update. I had the same problem after installing it. Sound but no video.

Next time, before deleting, try changing settings for the movie in the subtitles menu. You can change language and subtitles, maybe there was a bug and the default setting was audio only.
Mine isn't showing video for any of my movies. I don't think it is a content issue.
I have the same or a similar problem as well. Every single movie I previously downloaded on my iPad Pro 2021 has sound but no video. I just installed iOS iPad 15 yesterday, so it has probably something to do with that. A bug maybe? Restarting the device doesn’t work. Nothing is connected to the device except if you count the iPad Magic Keyboard.
Hello the movie effected is “Escape room tournament of champions”. I have deleted the movie and then re downloaded it and restarted the ipad but still get the same issue. I got a 13 pro and I tried it on there as well but I’m still having the same issue. Nothing is connected to either device and the movie is downloaded on both devices
