iPhone taking misaligned/offset photos

Hi. I first noted this issue last year after I bought my iPhone 12 Pro. When using the zoom feature on the camera and when in square (1:1) mode sometimes it offsets the photo I take. A centred photo is shifted down (I think it is always down and I think it is only when I am zooming in). Turning the camera back to 1x and then zooming in again typically fixed the problem. It is not consistent but I often don’t notice till it’s too late it if I am doing a batch of photos and have to redo them. Examples attached of the bad photos followed by a good photo the way I actually framed them. Wasn’t fixed by latest OS update. Searches for others suffering this problem has come up empty. Anyone else out there seen this?
