Often I have to click to move and click again to position or stop moving the window. How do I change this? Two clicks is annoying. Why can't it just stay where I put it, as is what my older Mac did? I can't seem to find the system preference to change this.
Anyone know?

You may want to look at System Preferences->Accessibility->Pointer Control.
Click "Trackpad Options" and uncheck the box for "enable dragging". You probably have one of those options like "with drag lock".

It’s not in the trackpad preferences.
It is in the Accessibility preferences.
Thank you, Luis! But the option isn't available in the trackpad preferences. This is a new M1 chip MacAir. I know I've had this problem in my other Mac but can't remember how I fixed it.
