iOS 14.8 vs. iOS 15

If you want to stick with iOS14 but want the security update, update to 14.8. If you want all the new iOS features and the security update, update to 15. It does appear that Apple is now giving people an option to stick with an old iOS and get security updates for that. First time that's happened.

Yes, iOS 15 contains all of the security updates found in iOS 14.8.

After reviewing your post, it seems like you want to know if you should download iOS 15 or iOS 14.8. 14.8 was for security content. iOS 15 will have new features. These article explain what they are and have in them.

Just FYI, whichever one you choose, you will need to take your phone off Low Power Mode & charge the battery to at least 50%. Better yet, leave the charger plugged in when you do the update.
