Mac mail sending delivery fail message for every email

Just starting last week my mac mail has started sending delivery failure messages for every email. Both emails I send and emails from others sent to me. Every time. The subject is always "Internet & Whatever the name of the sender is". They are from postmaster@mac.com. I've created rules to send anything from that address to trash but they keep coming into my mail anyway. Is there a way to stop this? Thanks for any help.

Yes, the emails are coming from ***@ mac.com and I have set the rule to trash those. They are not going to trash and continue to show up in my mailbox. The subject is always "Problem during delivery processing" and I set that also to go to trash again with no results. The sender name is either "Internet & (company name)" or also, I just noticed, "Internet Mail Delivery". I've put those in rules too put don't know if that's applicable or not. Anyway they all still show up in my mailbox.

I've done all those things. More than once in fact. I have to give in and admit that I knew the time was coming where I'd have to abandon Mac Mail. It's been causing trouble for almost a year now. It's no longer worth the effort. Luckily there are better options out there.

Thanks for trying to help.

Rules are created on iCloud.com for incoming mails and not as for outgoing mails Set up rules to filter email in Mail on iCloud.com - Apple Support

You can set up rules to filter incoming messages or reorganise messages you have already received. For example, you can create a rule that sorts messages from a particular sender into a specific folder. You can edit and delete these rules at any time.

Change or remove email filtering rules

  1. In Mail on iCloud.com, click in the sidebar, then choose Rules.
  2. If you do not see the sidebar, see Show or hide the sidebar in Mail on iCloud.com.
  3. Select a rule you want to change, then do any of the following:
    • Change a rule: click specify new filtering conditions in the menus and text fields, then click Done.
    • Delete rules: Select one or more rules, then press Delete.
  • Change the order of rules: select them, then drag them up or down in the list.
    • When you have multiple rules, they are applied in the order in which they appear in the list.
  1. Click Done.

Note: It may take up to 15 minutes for new or changed rules to take effect on incoming messages.
