How to have Safari use Apple Maps instead of Google Maps?

Are you trying to get directions for a location that is searched through Google?

We ask because it is likely that the location link you are trying to open is designed to open Google Maps.

Thank you for the info. I do prefer using the Safari web browser with the google search engine. I am going to use Safari for everything except directions. I placed the Firefox app next to Safari on all my devices and I use that just for directions with one of the search engines in Firefox which defaults to Apple Maps. Apple engineering is aware of the of the google search engine defaulting to google maps in the Apple Safari web browser, however can Apple convince Google to put an option to choose either Apple Maps or google maps in their search engine while using The Safari web browser is anyones guess.
