CarPlay not working after iOS 15 update

After updating to ios 15, my carplay stopped working. After playing with different settings, I found that my VPN was on in settings after AT&T Mobile Security app turned it on. When I disconnected VPN, carplay worked perfectly

Be sure to turn Dolby Atmos to auto. If left on, carplay will quit after every attempt to play music or after a phone call.

Settings - Music - Dolby Atmos - Automatic

I experienced this too. You need to turn on Siri in Settings.

I had the same issue when i picked up my iphone 13 pro max and updated to IOS15. Both my wired and wirelsss carplay were not working. I had to 'RESET ALL SETTINGS' as others suggested which was a pain but it seems to have (at least for now) fixed my issue.
