iPad says it is disabled connect to iTunes. Stuck on lock screen

my grandson did something to my iPad. It now says IPad is disabled connect to iTunes. I connected to iTunes from my phone and it does not tell me how to fix it.

You will need to disconnect it from your computer, turn the iPad off and then connect to a computer using the following instructions: If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support
