Smashed iPhone screen and forgotten passcode

I’m really lost and need step by step instructions to solve my problem or somebody that can preform the work.

My problem is my daughter’s iPhone SE 2020. The screen is smashed, as you can see by the attached picture. The screen is not functional at the moment so I can’t input anything through the screen. Other than the screen the phone is good shape.

My daughter forgot her passcode, not the one to unlock the screen but another passcode that Apple needs to open the phone and do diagnostic work, I don’t understand what code that is.

I tried syncing the phone with iTunes to perform the password reset but having no luck. I’m having trouble shutting the phone down. I can’t use the screen and I tied volume up down power button but can’t see if it’s working due to the screen.

I fooled around with syncing the phone to iTunes quite a bit and did get this message on the computer, need to trust this device to sync, but couldn’t do it because of the smashed screen.

To complicate the matter the phone is linked to her old iPod that she tossed out after getting her new phone so any verification codes go to it.

The phone was bought in December from Total Wireless for Christmas so it’s still under the 1 year warranty and will cost me less to fix it through Apple than a third party company.

She has an iCloud account but doesn’t know that password either.

Can someone tell me how to resolve this problem? Can the Apple store hook the phone up to their computer so we can do what is needed to reset the password? What can I do? Help 🙏
