apple notes tags for the future

Currently I am using Mac OS Big Sur 11.6. Of course this version doesn't have the apple notes with tags. But my question is this. If I make a note now using a hashtag such as #transform, will it be recognized as a tag when I get Mac OS Monterey so that I can start making tags in Notes even though at this point they are not recognized as tags?

To partially answer my own question, from my experiments I have concluded that thus far I know that tags made in an iOS 15 device will be recognized as tags in Big Sur, but not the other way around. So at this point I need to be careful it seems to make all my tags in an iOS 15 device.
