iOS 15 Find My live location not working for one member of my family.

Nah I dont reckon there is no end user fix for this issue. Mine works well for a bit and then it wont go live at all.

It doesnt matter the network (cellular or wifi) of the person that you're tracking is using either.

Apple needs to fix it on their end.

I had live location for a couple of weeks and woke up yesterday to no live location. Also my bf’s location in messages comes and goes. I also have a iPhone XR. Internet is really slow and calls also drop a lot more since this last iOS 15 update.

Having the same issue. I’m not sure when Live Location stopped working as I also got a new iPhone 13 and noticed it after I upgraded to the new iPhone. But it seems to be around the same time that iOS 15.1 came out.

Funny thing is mine stopped working when I updated to iOS 15.1! My parents are on iOS 15 and their phones are still showing LIVE. I really believe it has something to do with the iOS 15.1 🤷‍♂️ Man it’s super frustrating when they show this awesome feature and it doesn’t work now.

We have 5 family members all with an Apple Watch 13 pro. Find My works great on LIVE for 4 of us. ALL settings are identical. Gram does not show up on LIVE for any other phone. We have spent hours on the phone with Apple. They eventually got us an appointment at Best Buy geek squad. They worked on it and eventually handed it back saying essentially “we cannot figure it out, it is what it is.”

Today went to the Apple store. They worked on it and said there is some kind of a conflict with the Apple Watch but they got it working. FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. Then it went back to no live. Of course we were then many miles from the Apple store. The Apple people had never seen that problem before. Or so they say.

Rats. Whatever happened to the Apple unofficial motto “It just works”?

Yep. I’ve spent hours and hours on find my seeing if find my live tracking works and have come to the conclusion of “ not really”

friends, family all on latest updates, iPhone 13,12,11’s iPads etc it may sometimes work for all of them and suddenly none at all. There’s no user reason it shouldn’t work as they’re all on very stable connections.

i don’t reckon apple should’ve released it as it needs a lot of work 😒👎🏻

I only have four contacts on findmy. Son, daughter, wife, grandson. Son and daughter show up as live. Grandson and wife do not. Go figure. However they do refresh every minute or so. Sure wish this feature would work. Annoying!

That was an interesting thought George about the watches, so I shut down my wife's iPhone down but she still doesn't show to be Live. I also have a friend that I can see Live and he does have an iWatch, so I think we can rule that school of thought out. Just like you, a few weeks ago I could see my wife Live, but no longer. She can see and track me live, but I can't track her. We both are up-to-date with iOS. I have a case number with Apple but they seem to be currently as baffled as we all are.

Gosh dang heck it. My kids all went to 15 a while back, and showed this fancy new live option.

I tend to be slow about upgrades, and just today went to 15 THE ONLY REASON WAS TO GET LIVE UPDATES.

Of course, it works with EXACTLY ZERO of my friends I am following.

Apple, you treat me so badly.

The inconsistency with various models of iPhones and factory resetting them and trying to start over. Why some people can get it and some people not very frustrating. Would be AWESOME if newer software updates could fix this. Maybe someday!

I have an iPhone XR and am operating on ios 15.2 - My wife has an X operating on 15.1. Her phone live tracks all of her "People"on Find My Friends but mine will not live track any of mine. I am surprised that with this problem being so prevalent there is no clear answer. I have checked and re-checked all of my settings and everything is exactly as it should be. Apple, whats the deal?

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this problem. My wife and I both have iPhone 11’s and the same group of persons we follow (our three children and each other). Everyone shows up “live” on my wife’s phone but only one of my kids show “live” on mine. You would think Apple would at least explain why this occurs and there’s such inconsistency but I guess they are too big and aren’t concerned with customer satisfaction.

So my anecdotal evidence doesn't hold up :) I originally thought it was the service provider since my family on Verizon all worked from the get-go, and us on t-Mobile didn't, but then my mom on t-Mobile with her ancient iPhone 7 started working just fine. I guess we just wait for a fix.
