How to fix error 'a problem repeatedly occurred' on Safari on Mac
Using an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) running macOS 10.15.7 (19H1419), we're getting the error "a problem repeatedly occurred" when trying to log into Barclays Bank. I have no problem logging into Barclays Bank from another Mac (Chrome works too!)
We have tried numerous potential solutions including:
- Disabling and re-enabling Java via Debug menu
- Clearing cache and cookies
- Ensuring no extensions running in Safari
- Changing DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
- Reinstalling macOS from the recovery partition (Command-R on startup)
- Reinstalling macOS from the Internet (Command-Alt-R on startup) ... this is still in progress so we don't know whether it will work any better than the recovery partition option.
... but none of these worked to date.
A google search for ["a problem repeatedly occurred" safari] shows 3,410 results so this issue is clearly affecting lots of people.
What else can I try? Apart from just using Chrome instead of Safari.
