the microphone button never appears

In Translate on my iPhone, why does the microphone button not appear?

iPhone 4s, iOS 9

Hey winstrm,

Uninstall the Translate app and then install it again to see if that resolves it.

Which iPhone do you have, and the software version installed: Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad or iPod
Does the microphone work in other apps such as voice memos and phone calls: Use the Voice Memos app
