Apple Translate

Hello, the microphone button is not showing up in the Translate app - it only allows me to download languages (which I have and it shows a check mark next to them) but the app will not do anything! I do NOT have my microphone on silent, and my microphone works fine. Also, the app will not allow itself to go into landscape mode for more than a fraction of a second during starting of the app (and only if I am already in landscape mode from another app). During that fraction of a second that it is in landscape mode, I do see the microphone in the split screen of translate, but it immediately goes into portrait mode and then does not display the microphone button. Selecting the translate icon in the lower left corner does not do anything either. I have an iphone 11 and I am running v14.7.1 I have also tried rebooting. I have just tried the app for the first time (getting ready to travel), so I cannot say if it has ever worked or not. Help!

I deleted then reinstalled the app and it seemed to fix it. I now see the microphone! Thanks anyway!
